These are originally called Life Changing Tahini Chocolate Chip Cookies — and we 100% agree.
40 minute cook time | Serves 4 | Suitable for: dessert or snacks
This recipe is adapted from Seed and Mill, introducing the 'Life Changing Tahini Chocolate Chunk Cookies', do we agree that it's life changing? Absolutely! Tahini is one of our favorite flavors due to its nutty and savory flavor profile, when mixed with sweetness, it becomes a magical flavor combination that will leave you wanting more. This recipe uses 2 of our favorite ingredients from the shop, organic and authentic Ethiopian Tahini from Seed and Mill and our Oat Milk Baking Chips from Raaka Chocolate.
Spin it: Use coconut sugar instead and gluten-free flour mix of your choice!
1. Pre-heat oven to 350 °F. In a stand mixer, combine butter, tahini, sugar. Turn on to medium speed and beat until smooth. Add egg, vanilla and increase speed, beating until fluffy. Turn off the mixer and add flour, baking soda, baking powder and mix on low speed until combined. Lastly, using a spatula, fold in chocolate chips and halva.
2. Scoop balls of dough on parchment lined baking sheets and sprinkle sea salt over dough.
Bake for 10-14 mins until golden and tops are crackly. We always give the baking sheet a bang on the counter while the cookies are still hot, to increase the crackliness!
